WHY RANTING?
“Ranting” is a way to express emotion through your words. At each online workshop we will “Rant” about a chosen topic inspired by a featured non-profit project. Workshop activities will prompt discussion, sharing stories, writing & poetry.
WHY RAVING?
“Rave” music is composed from “sound bites” to make repetitive and transcendent music to make you move! With the help of a featured music producer, together we will choose sound bites from our recorded “Rants” to create a song for Raves!
Participants will be sent the song, and it will also be available on the R&R website for others to download in exchange for a donation. Donations will go to the featured non-profit project.
HOW DO I JOIN?
“RANTS” will be ONLINE directly through a private link sent to you after completing a participant form. The link will be sent to you the day of the workshop.
The workshop is for 2 hours with a 5 minute break, but you can join us and leave at any time. It is your choice to have your camera or microphone on. The workshop will NOT be filmed (there will be an optional “screenshot” photo at the end of each workshop), however the AUDIO WILL BE RECORDED (details below).
“RAVES” will be IN PERSON – Details of this workshop will only be shared with those who took part in the online “RANT” workshop. This workshop is optional because it is in London (for now).
WHAT IF MY ENGLISH IS NOT STRONG?
Workshops will be in English, but you do not need to have strong English speaking skills to join us! Conversation is the best way to practice, and there is no pressure to speak, it is your choice! We will aim to have Tarjimly translators take part in the workshop if you request.
WHAT IS TARJIMLY?

R&R is partnered with an incredible organisation, Tarjimly, who provide translation and interpretation services for people on the move and associated organisations. You will be able to request a translator to take part in the workshop through the participant form, which is in English and Arabic (for now).
WHY DO I NEED TO COMPLETE A PARTICIPANT FORM?
Before the workshop, it is important that you have read and understood that the workshop audio will be recorded for the purpose of the workshop activities, as well as answer a few simple questions. Online safety and security is especially important for refugees and asylum seekers.
WHY IS THE WORKSHOP AUDIO RECORDED?
The workshop audio is recorded to choose “sound bites” (which are smaller, selected parts of recorded audio). This means small parts of our discussion, ideas, or poetry that we read aloud during “RANT” workshops, will be in the song we create together during “RAVE” workshops. Workshop audio will be stored in the R&R GreenCloud.
WHAT IS GREENCLOUD?
GreenCloud is a private online storage space, only accessed by Sarah –
WHO IS SARAH?
